Admissions & Joining AIS

How do we apply to AIS?

Families can begin the admissions process by getting in touch with our admissions team. We’re happy to answer any initial questions and guide you through the next steps, including arranging a visit to the school.

Yes. Subject to availability, we welcome applications throughout the academic year. This is particularly helpful for families relocating to the Algarve at different times.

We are a non-selective school and do not conduct assessments before students join us. If obstacles to learning, such as dyslexia or ADHD for example, have already been identified, we would ask to be notified. This is to ensure that the correct support is in place for new pupils.

AIS offers education from Preschool through to Secondary and Sixth Form. Full details about each stage of learning can be found on our education pages.

English is the main language of instruction, but we understand that many of our students join us from international backgrounds. Additional language support is available where needed, particularly in the earlier years.

Absolutely. We strongly encourage families to visit the school, meet our team, and experience the learning environment first hand. You can arrange a visit via our Schedule a Tour page. We also offer up to three free trial days for students, which can be in advance of enrolment.

Initially, we’ll ask for some basic information about your child’s age, previous schooling, and any specific learning needs. Our admissions team will guide you through the rest of the process step by step.

More information is available on our About and Contact pages, or you can speak directly with our admissions team who will be happy to help.
